My story

Being an art lover for as long as I can remember, I only first felt the need to create at 40. Until then, I had enjoyed living in my head and working with numbers and data.

But I realized I wasn’t feeding my soul. My heart and hands needed to feel and create. And I discovered the wonderful medium of mosaics.

A few years into making mosaics, I injured my back. That was the start of a long journey towards healing. From trying all sorts of physical therapy to massages, nothing worked. My body felt broken.

Until I discovered I was suppressing my emotions, which kept my body in continuous stress mode, making it impossible to heal.

Getting in touch with my feelings again turned out to be the key. Honestly, at first, I felt like my mind and heart were broken too. Until I started healing my emotional traumas, which also turned out to be the route to healing my body!

And more importantly, I am discovering who I truly am and what I want without all the expectations and people-pleasing. And to truly love and accept myself.

This inner work has had a massive impact on me, my life, and my art. It is both my source of inspiration and my savior. By sharing about it, I hope to inspire others to embrace who they are as well. We are good enough.

Artist Statement

My art is about exploring the realms of emotions, self-love, and wholeness.

We are shaped by our experiences and events. But we are not broken. And we are never really lost.
We just have to unleash the power within to rediscover ourselves.
I believe everyone has access to that power and that there is a universal energy
that connects and carries us. We are made of the same stuff as the stars!

I am a storyteller. My mosaics and collages tell universal stories of our inner world
and our connection to our higher selves. It is a window into our soul and the universe.

Like a camera, they allow the viewer to zoom in and out.
Seeing the wonder of the tiniest individual pieces, as well as the bigger picture we are a part of.
Reflecting who we are, all those different parts and pieces that come together so beautifully
to make up the whole of us. Not one piece being redundant. This, to me, is the real magic.

My approach to creating is multi-disciplinary.
You will always find me putting together separate pieces, like characters in their new story.
Using different materials, colors, and textures allows me to make this intangible
inner world visible: glass, stones, paper, and watercolor.

I aim to create art that inspires others to embrace who they are and gives them that sense of wholeness.
